There is one instance when a Set-up in not voided should the Retest peak finish higher. This is when two peak close almost level with each other. This is when both peaks have the same CCI indicator MA value or if the Retest peak closes higher than the previous Set-up peak by no more than 10 points on the CCI indicator MA line.
Level Peaks
To find out the difference between the two peaks simply place the mouse on the CCI indicator line on the peak you wish to check then move the mouse to the other peak you wish to compare. The image below shows this example.
Here a sell trade occurred, the Set-up peak reached 204pts on the CCI indicator MA line but the Retest peak had a slightly higher value on the CCI indicator line, however as this was less than the 10pts allowed it made the second peak a valid Retest peak.
It must be noted that the 10pt rule only applies if the peaks are directly following each other and there are no other peaks in between as in the case below.
Image shows two level peaks less than 10pts between the peak height also no other peaks between them
Level peaks with less than 10pts but invalid as there are two other peaks between them
In this instance although the peak with a value of 221pts is only 6pts higher than the Set-up peak it is not a valid level peak as there are two other peaks between them. This applies even if the peaks in between are invalid or are below the Level Lines.
